The new art show of well-known artists, prof. Ph. D. Remigijus Venckus and assoc. prof. dr. Rimantas Plungė, will be held in Biržai Region Museum “Sėla”. This time, the video art retrospective will be shown; R. Venckus’ video was created in 2005 – 2018, R. Plungė’s video was created in 2009 – 2018.
About the authors
Prof. Ph. D. Remigijus Venckus is a professor at the Department of Graphics Systems of the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. He is the author of 18 scientific articles, 5 research reports presented in international conferences and 20 research reports published in republican scientific conferences.
R. Venckus is also a media artist usually engaged in the art of photography. The main theme of creation comprises memory, time and personal experience as well as the male body and sexuality interpretations. In Lithuania R. Venckus is known as an art critic engaged in reviewing contemporary art exhibitions and writing about painting, photography and video art.
Assoc. prof. dr. Rimantas Plungė is a contemporary artist active in the international art field, constantly showing his work in various countries of the world (Italy, Great Britain, Mexico, Croatia, Denmark, USA, Lithuania and elsewhere). The artist works on a variety of media - photography, video, painting, creating collages, art objects, and as a media designer performing media products for television and production companies. The artist is an associate professor at Vytautas Magnus University, Faculty of Arts.
